Day 87: Judges 16-18; Psalm 87

Today, Lord God, we are reminded as we journey toward the cross, why the cross is necessary. Fickle humanity. Sinful humanity. So desperately in need of a Savior, we look for a god we can hold onto, see, define, and control and then we wonder when our every want is not met and life does not go our way what is wrong with our god. We see this as we read the pages of Judges and we see this as we scroll through the pages of the daily news. We humans are the problem. How desperately we need Jesus in our world...in our lives. The only hope we have is the Christ of the cross, for He Who died for our sins, rose victoriously. He is our Salvation, our Hope! So, today along with Paul the Apostle who said 'I die daily', we die to sin and self-centered living. We rise from this place of prayer grateful for the cross and hopeful for a victorious day because our life, our help, our hope are in Him alone. Thank You for the cross, Lord! Amen!
