Day 89: Judges 20-21; Ruth 1; Psalm 89

O, the darkness of the day that dawned that first Good Friday, for evil was at it's most ambitious and desperate in its attempt to derail and destroy Your salvation plan. How deep the depravity of humanity given over to the heart of evil. Yet, You looked the worst kind of evil (if there is a degree of such) in the eye and declared: "No matter what you fling at me, how hard you beat my body, nailing it to the cross, how desperately you call me defeated and mock my existence, you cannot win! It is finished!" The work of salvation is done! Sin and death lie defeated once and for all, and Life everlasting is the offer to anyone and everyone who will receive this greatest gift of Love. Lord Jesus Christ, thank You for the cross. Yes, I will glory in Your cross, for by it my self-centered, sin-prone life has been crucified, and in Your death and resurrection I am a new creation, raised to newness of life, filled with Your ever-present Help (Holy Spirit) and the eternal Hope of Heaven. Thank You, forever and always! Amen!
