Day 116: 1 Kings9-10; Psalm 116

Father, we all know the story of Solomon so help us to learn from his life. Grant us wisdom that is beyond our own, wisdom that comes from above. Keep us aware of our need of You for life, of our dependence upon You for our daily bread. May every day begin with time in Your presence so that nothing will distract us and draw us away from You and the eternal, abundant life we have in Christ. This we ask in Jesus' Name. Amen!

Yep. No one human equals his Maker- on anything. Solomon, with all his wisdom, still turned to other gods- to his great detriment. I pray that I can stop doing the same.

I am going to try to do the same- "practicing the presence of God." He is always worth it.

I hear you. My prayer is that just as we learn from the good examples set for us, help us to learn to avoid the pitfalls because of those who have not set good examples. The secret for me is practicing the presence of God. My only hope of doing this is the presence of the Holy Spirit within me. Thanks be to God we have the victory through the Lord Jesus Christ!
