Day 120: 1 Kings 17-18; Psalm 120

"Elijah was a man like us and he prayed..." (James 5:17)

Like the disciples, our Lord, we ask You, "Teach us to pray." Help us to learn that it is not the wordiness of our prayers that matters to You...You need no convincing. No, it is the earnest heart, desperate for Your presence and glory, that may utter a simple sentence-prayer to which all of heaven responds. Yes, Lord, teach us to pray like Jesus, like Elijah. Amen!

Ah,yes. Sometimes I ask God ( the chutzpah!) for a sign that He is there and listening. The bird call outside the window? Faith, is what is needed I know. But my humanness ,ego and little faith are always ready to intrude.

I love those singing birds rising early to praise their Creator. They remind me God is watching over me, so I join the praise.
