Day 165: Esther 5-8; Psalm 15

The scene from the book of Esther: Haman is the most arrogant man, expecting the world to bow to him. Mordecai refuses to bow to anyone but God. Haman hates Mordecai and decrees genocide for Mordecai's people, God's people. Mordecai still refuses to bow to Haman, so Haman plots his early demise. On the day he comes to get Mordecai, the king instructs Haman to make Mordecai his own superior for the day (Mordecai saved the king's life...this is his reward). Haman is humiliated. Mordecai is lifted up by God through Haman.

Lord God, thank You that you are not austere and far off. Thank You that while You are holy and righteous, You also laugh and have a sense of humor. More than that, thank You for this humorous reminder that Your justice is complete and Your judgment is perfect. In You we place our trust and so we rest...and we are reminded that the one who laughs last is the one who laughs best. Amen.

I love this! I like to laugh! You are right. Our Maker has to laugh and have a sense of humor if He made us that way! 😂

Aren't you glad He enjoys His creation?
