Day 170: Job 19-23; Psalm 20

Oh, that my words were recorded,
    that they were written on a scroll,
that they were inscribed with an iron tool on lead,
    or engraved in rock forever!
I know that my redeemer lives,
    and that in the end he will stand on the earth.
And after my skin has been destroyed,
    yet in my flesh I will see God;
I myself will see him
    with my own eyes—I, and not another.
    How my heart yearns within me! (Job 19:23-27, NIV)

What Job could not see at the beginning of his journey, what his friends did not know that revealed their misguided counsel, has given us incredible gems that have brought hope and consolation through the millennia. Help us to remember that what we do not understand now, what we cannot see clearly in the present, never keeps You from working in all things for the good of those who truly love You. We love You and believe in You and know our confident hope and grace-empowered faith will never be disappointed. In the Name of Jesus. Amen!
