Day 338: Daniel 1-2; 1 John 2
An impossible task, in this case one upon which life depended, called for prayer (Daniel 2). Not just any prayer would do, for Daniel the challenge required the intercession of his friends on his behalf, even as he himself interceded (Daniel 2:17-18). There is power in prayer. There is added power in praying together. Jesus said: "Again, truly I tell you, if two of you on earth agree about any matter that you pray for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, I am there among them.” (Matthew 18:19-20, CSB). These are words I have pondered of late after listening to a fellow pastor make reference to the 'intensity of presence.' Jesus is always with His followers (Matthew 28:20). When we gather in agreement in prayer, as did Daniel and his peers, there is an added intensity in that unity of faith and purpose. There Jesus moves mightily in concert with His praying followers. Is there something that you face that is beyond your ability? A mountain that is too steep and high to climb, an ocean that stretches too far to swim? Enlist others to intercede in your challenge and pray together. Jesus awaits your trust in Him, and in others, to show His glory in answer to unified prayer.

This so resonated with me. My chief prayer concern - I need to ask others to pray for this... and wait on God. I KNOW He hears me.
For some reason, my past or other, I feel uncomfortable or embarrassed. Hard to be me. Still, I sometimes feel God's Presence when I pray alone. Which is not to say I would not be open to others praying with me.
Have you ever wondered why it can be so difficult to pray together?
