Day 358: Habakkuk 1-3; Revelation 14

"I will climb up to my watchtower and stand at my guardpost. There I will wait to see what the LORD says and how he will answer my complaint." (Habakkuk 2:1, NLT)

Habakkuk's relationship with God is extremely honest, and brave. He launches right into his 'complaint' from the very outset of his prophecy. "This makes no sense to me...what You are doing, how You are doing it makes no sense, God!" He is not alone in having such a conversation with God. Perhaps you can identify. In three short chapters you and I can read how his journey progresses by leaps and bounds until he rests in whatever God does and trusts God in complete and satisfied surrender despite all outward appearances. Could Habakkuk 2:1 be the reason for the transformation. How often might you and I ask God a hard question, or throw Him a complaint, and then not wait to hear His answer? This is a good time to pause from the frenzy and wait and watch and listen. Yes, be courageous and wait for the LORD (Psalm 27:14).

This I get! It is a good thing to end up where Habakkuk does. Love your candor...sure God does, too!
