Day 86: Judges 13-15; Psalm 86
Teach me your way, O Yahweh,
so that I may live in your truth.
Focus my heart on fearing you. [Give me an undivided heart - NIV]
I will give thanks to you with all my heart, O Adonai my Elohim.
I will honor you forever
because your mercy toward me is great.
You have rescued me from the depths of hell. (Psalm 86:11-13, Names of God)
Indeed, "But you, Lord [Adonai], are a compassionate and gracious God [Elohim],
slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness." (v.15, NIV)
Just a reminder:
Yahweh = I AM WHO I AM (verb); I will be to you what you need me to be when you need me to be that; God of Covenant; Promise Keeper [this is the sacred Name that no religious Jewish person will repeat in traditional Jewish worship, honoring the command not to profane God's Name].
Adonai = God in relationship to His creation; He is the Master Who administers His Domain; He is the Father Who is the Lord of His household...loving, providing, disciplining, etc.
Elohim = Majesty of majesties; Creator God with all that means; He alone is God in all His glorious splendor; God above all gods [in Jewish practice, when a word is inadequate to describe what you are saying you make it a plural or repeat it, showing that there is no way to define this God in one word - Elohim is the plural of El]
